Prior to joining GHS, Edward was the Policy and Communications Manager at Release, the UK center of expertise on drugs and drug laws. There, he managed all external relations, contributed to the organization's key messages and policy positions, and advised human rights advocates from the Global South on strategic communications. Edward formerly worked as a journalist in Colombia and has served as a technical advisor to the Global Commission on Drug Policy, including co-authoring their 2015 report on access to controlled medicines.
Edward graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in Politics and International Relations from the University of Sussex, completing dissertations on international criminal law and the genocide in Darfur, and the TRIPs agreement's impact on the pricing of antiretroviral medications.
