Rasik works out of the Lucknow office as a Program Associate on the RMNCH+A project. Brought up in a family of social activists and progressive thinkers, Rasik developed a social conscience early on that has informed his decision to volunteer with various activist groups over the years in India. In high school he began volunteering with Jabala, an NGO working in the red light areas of Kolkata, tutoring and mentoring the children of sex workers. During the summer of his junior year of college, he interned with Apne Aap Women Worldwide while working on a research project shedding light on the educational opportunities of sex workers’ children. After college, Rasik moved to Lucknow to volunteer full time with Sanatkada Samajik Pehel, an organization focused on providing support for marginalized women in UP’s capital city. He maintains a strong connection to Sanatkada and frequently volunteers there during his free time.
Rasik graduated summa cum laude from the College of William and Mary in 2015 with a B.A. in Philosophy.
