Gwynne Oosterbaan brings a decade of diverse communications, public affairs and advocacy expertise as Director of Communications & Strategic Development, where she guides major public outreach and media relations initiatives for GHS clients.

Prior to joining GHS, Gwynne was Director of Communications at the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development (TB Alliance). Gwynne positioned the TB Alliance as a leader in the global health field through regular top-tier media coverage, an innovative web site, and excellent third-party relations with donors and advocates. Gwynne also produced award-winning annual reports, commissioned academic research demonstrating the impact of new TB drugs, and managed the TB Alliance's Stakeholder Association.

She maintains close working relationships with leading health and science correspondents at the most influential outlets in American and international media. From 1998 to 2001, Gwynne worked at several boutique public affairs and investor relations agencies for a range of sovereign, corporate and non-profit clients. She served as account manager and specialized in responding to unique investor and communications challenges such as IPOs, investor audits and crises for Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to becoming a communications professional, she also helped the EastWest Institute organize high-level events and fundraisers with foreign dignitaries and key opinion leaders. While living in Washington DC, she also was a researcher with the National Academy of Sciences, the Henry L. Stimson Center and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Fluent in Russian, Gwynne received a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University and her B.A. magna cum laude in Russian and Government from Bowdoin College.
