Jonathan Baum is a Director at GHS, where he has spent the past four years running media and outreach campaigns for global pharmaceutical companies, NGOs and international organizations. Mr. Baum has orchestrated global communications efforts at international venues including the 2003 AIDS conference in Paris, the 2004 AIDS conference in Bangkok, the 2005 G8 Summit in Gleneagles, Scotland, the 2005 MIM Malaria Conference in Yaounde, Cameroon, and the Microbicides 2006 conference in Cape Town, South Africa. He has organized press conferences, media trainings and political campaigns on four continents.
In addition to his work at GHS, Jonathan Baum has worked as a political writer, drafting op-ed articles on AIDS and development for political leaders ranging from sitting U.S. presidents to a number of past and current U.S. congressmen. He has also been a weekly contributor to a Chicago Sun-Times business technology column.
Mr. Baum worked as media consultant for DATA (Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa), the organization founded by U2 singer Bono to advocate for Africa. He has also worked as a speechwriter for the CEOs of Fortune 500 companies in the energy, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Jonathan Baum earned his MA in International Relations from Yale University and received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
